An improvisational show for children 3 to 12 called “Show Up, Kids!” is making its Long Island debut on Saturday.
“The joke is that I’m there to introduce Sally the Silly Song Singer,” says performer Peter Michael Marino. When Sally doesn’t show, Marino enlists the audience to help him create a show using the props and costumes that Sally had left on the stage.
“In the show, I’m pretending that I have no experience at all,” Marino says. “The kids feel very invested in making sure the event is successful.”
Marino grew up in East Meadow and lives in Manhattan.
The one-hour performances are at 4 and 7 p.m. at Glenwood Life Center, 71 Grove St., Glenwood Landing, with food available for purchase between 5 and 7 p.m. Show tickets are $12 per person and are available at eventcombo.com/e/show-up-kids-interactive-family-show-32526.
