"Super Schnoz and the Gates of Smell," by Gary Urey (Albert Whitman & Co.), is about a boy named Andy Whiffler. He was born with a humongous nose, and (surprise!) he had an amazing sense of smell. Even though he was often picked on, eventually many kids admired him because of his great skill.

Here are just some of his adventures: He found a missing hamster, he discovered that a playing field had a high level of methane gas, and he used his nose as a baseball bat! He could even use his enormous nose to help him fly! At recess, kids had to hide something that smells bad -- and Andy had to find it.

Finally, he went on an adventure where he was able to save the day when evildoers were trying to take over the world. He and his pals were being chased by security guards. He put cayenne pepper in his nose and sneezed -- and the guards got knocked out. In the end, his schnoz saved the world!
