The Star Wars Jedi Holocron (Uncle Milton), is toy that is supposed to read your mind through algorithms. The Holocron can only guess Star Wars-related things — not anything else. I really was excited to find out if this toy was one with the force and could really read my mind.
First let’s talk about the packaging. It comes in a three-dimensional rectangular box. It has a little area in the middle of the box to let the buyer see the Holocron. The box also shows kids how to use it. On the back it shows the features of the Holocron. In all, the packaging makes shoppers want to find out if it can really read their minds.
My initial thoughts about this product were that it wouldn’t read my mind. The Holocron itself looks very well-made and it looks like it truly does belong in the Star Wars universe. The packaging claims that after 20 questions it will read my mind and tell me who I’m thinking of.
On the face of the cube there are buttons and a little screen. There is a button for brightness, which is basically what controls how lighted the cube is when you use it. And then the other buttons are for answering the questions, which include: No, Yes, Skip and Maybe. The questions always start by asking you if it is a being (a living thing), technology or location.
So does the Jedi Holocron really work? For the most part it does guess who you’re thinking about. But like everything, it has flaws. Sometimes it might guess close to what you’re thinking about, but not get it. You have to know the lore of Star Wars in order for the Holocron to read your mind.
