Has your child missed out on plays and movies because of a pediatric illness that has weakened his or her immune system? The Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post (720 Northern Blvd., Brookville) has teamed up with the Sea-Cliff based Penelope’s Odyssey to offer a free, private performance of “Stuart Little” for just such kids. The performance is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m.

Children with compromised immune systems can’t be out in crowds because exposure to viruses and bacteria can cause them major health setbacks. The isolation and withdrawal from activities often extends to parents and siblings who don’t want to bring home germs.

Several children’s troupes performing at Tilles this season will participate in such offerings. Performances aren’t open to the general public; admission is through application at PenelopesOdyssey.org.

“Stuart Little” is the story of a mouse who is a member of an ordinary New York City family. It’s performed by the Dallas Children’s Theater National Touring Company.

Future shows include "The Monster Who Ate My Peas" at 5 p.m. on Jan. 10, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Stories" at 5 p.m. on March 28 and "Erth's Dinosaur Zoo,"  at 5 p.m. on May 1.
