Summer shows for kids on Long Island

Everyone knows that Cinderella finds her prince -- but do they actually wind up getting married and living happily ever after?
Find out at "Cinderella's Wedding," when Cinderella's excitement is squelched by the unexpected appearance of a Spanish ambassador claiming that Prince Charming was previously promised to the Princess of Spain.
"Cinderella's Wedding," scheduled for July 23 at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury, is just one of the shows for kids that hits the Long Island stage this summer.
Here are many more possibilities:
"Freckleface Strawberry" hits the stage today at 11 a.m. in Lindenhurst and also is performed at 10:30 a.m. July 22 and 23, 1 p.m. July 25 and 11 a.m. Aug. 7 in Elmont. "A Pirate's Tale" is at 10:30 a.m. July 16, Aug. 2 and 8 and at 1 p.m. July 16 in Elmont. "Rapunzel" is at 1 p.m. July 22 and 1:30 Aug. 2 and 8 in Elmont and noon Aug. 7 in East Islip.
The classic children's book "Good Night Moon" by Margaret Wise Brown is set to music in the stage performance of "Good Night Moon" at 11 a.m. Saturdays and 10:30 a.m. Sundays through July 14. "Jack and the Beanstalk" takes the stage at the same times Aug. 3 to Sept. 8.
Gateway offers four shows this summer. "Jack and the Beanstalk" kicks things off at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Next up is "Disney's Winnie the Pooh Kids" at 10:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays July 5 to 20; it followed by "Suessical Junior" 10:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays July 26 to Aug. 10 (this show will be performed at the Patchogue Theater, 71 E. Main St.) and then "Jim West's Dinosaurs" 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 23.
Theatre Three fields two original musicals this summer -- "Rumpelstiltskin" at 11 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays from July 5 to Aug. 3, and "The Frog Prince" at 11 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Saturdays from Aug. 9 to 17.
The series kicks off at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11; continues each Tuesday through Aug. 20. Shows: "Pinkalicious," "The Wizard of Oz," "Cinderella's Wedding," "Alice in Wonderland," "Pinocchio," "Beauty & the Beast" and "Peter Pan."
Plays are each Wednesday in August. Comedy, drumming and cartoon characters combine in the show "BAM" at 1 and 5 p.m. Aug 7.
