Sunrise in Hawaii

“Guys, it’s time to wake up!” That was what I heard at 3:30 in the morning after getting five hours of sleep that night. We were going to Haleakala National Park in Hawaii. This national park is known for its sunrises. An hour later, after a moody car ride, we got there at 4:30 a.m. The sky was pitch black and all we could see were the stars. Our tour guide pointed out the moving satellites. After a long time of waiting and just looking at the stars, the sunrise began. We were all in awe once we saw the sunrise. The elevation at the park was over 10,000 feet high, so we were looking down at the clouds. This volcano receives 13 fewer inches of rain than the town that it is in because of its elevation. On our way back down, we saw crazy bikers biking up and down the active volcano. All the wait was worth it, for we saw one of the most beautiful sunrises.
