Sweet Sparkle Society, a children’s party and play workshop focused on beauty and strength inside and out, opens in Lindenhurst on April 1.
The new space, with craft tables, salon stations, dressing rooms and a karaoke corner, will offer spa parties, tea parties and dress-up gatherings for kids aged 3 to 14. Sweet Sparkle Society is the brainchild of co-owners and sisters Cristina Gordon, a former public relations executive for beauty brands, and Angelina Cammareri, a cosmetologist and aesthetician. The sisters, who have daughters of their own, say they were struck by the rise of beauty marketing influencing the younger generation.

"We wanted to create a space where kids could still lean into the fun aspect of dressing up or playing with their hair or makeup," says Gordon. "But it’s not about how you look, it’s all about how you feel."
Partnering with a licensed therapist, they created a social-emotional skill building curriculum so that every party, workshop or event promotes emotionally empowering skills.
Sweet Sparkle Society will offer parties such as the Sparkle with Friendship Tea Party and Sparkle Confident Royal Party where kids can get manicures and other spa services, while also celebrating friendship and working together. There's expected to be scheduled workshops, like Friendship Lab: Kindness Club and the Mommy & Me Sparkle Circle, a bonding experience centered on confidence and connection, as well as school break mini camps.

"The parties and all the fun and the dress up is really just the icing on the top. It’s the way to make kids feel creative and excited, but they’ll also be walking away with the skills to be more kind, confident kids," says Gordon, adding that they’ll provide take-home literature for parents to promote conversations about friendship, kindness and confidence.
"It’s about how you can come together as young kids to celebrate each other and celebrate our differences and the skills of learning how to communicate with each other," Gordon says.
