Taking flight on a trapeze

Trapeze is super fun. You can find trapeze schools all over — in Florida, Long Beach, Oceanside and Eisenhower Park, and many other places.
When you get to a trapeze school, the people that run it help you through all the steps. When they are done telling you what you need to know, you get a harness on and then climb a ladder that is probably 20 feet off the ground. When you climb up, you get on a little platform that is over a huge net. They hook you up to a really big rope so you don’t fall. You put your hands on the bar, and they say, “3, 2, 1,” and you jump off the platform and swing, and then bring your legs up and sit on the bar. Once you do that, you drop onto the net and then climb off.
After you do this for a while, they ask whether you would like to try the harder course. You can say either yes or no. When you get to the platform to do the harder exercises, you get hooked up and jump, and swing and do a back flip on the bar, but you don’t drop — someone else is swinging, and you take that person’s hands. Then you swing and drop on the net. When you drop, you roll off and go down on a ladder that brings you to the floor. Once you do it, you want to do it again and again. Trapeze is a super fun experience!
