Kids can bring a favorite stuffed animal to get a checkup at the Teddy Bear clinic on Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown.
The Teddy Bear Clinic will show kids what it’s like to be a patient by treating their toys’ imaginary ailments – the kids will visit various mock departments and explore a real ambulance.
The free program is meant to take the scare out of emergency care.
The clinic is part of St. Catherine of Siena’s annual health fair, which also will include free blood pressure, cholesterol, hearing, and other health screenings. There’ll also be free flu vaccines for adults and more than 70 booths offering health care information.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon under the big tent outside the hospital at 50 Route 25A in Smithtown. For more information, call 631-870-3444 or visit stcatherines.chsli.org.
