Curl up with these three Christmas tree tales.

  • A picture book called “Albert: The Little Tree With Big Dreams” (Golden Books, $9.99) by Aaron and Will Eisenberg tells the same story as the new, original, hourlong animated movie that airs at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 on Nickelodeon. It’s the tale of a tiny Douglas fir tree who dreams of having the top job: becoming the Empire City Christmas tree.
  • “The Great Spruce” (G.P. Putnam’s Sons, $17.99) by John Duvall, who grew up in Lynbrook and Garden City, also tells a story of a Rockefeller Christmas tree. The picture book details the journey of one boy’s beloved spruce tree that’s recruited to be cut down so it can be the big tree in the city. But the boy, named Alec, doesn’t want the tree to die, so he suggests they dig it up by the roots and let the city borrow it, then return it to him after Christmas.
  • “Maple & Willow’s Christmas Tree” (Nancy Paulsen Books, $16.99) is the fourth book in Lori Nichols’ picture book series about sisters Maple and Willow. In this story, the two are getting their first real Christmas tree — but whenever Maple gets near it, she starts sniffling and sneezing. Oh, no! Is she allergic to the tree?
