The importance of community service

I've always believed that as human beings we have an obligation to make our world and community a better place. We should do our part to improve the lives of those around us.

Over the years, I've gotten the chance to do my part by participating in the AIDS Walk of New York. I did the walk as part of the community service program for my school.

I can honestly say that I found this experience to be very rewarding, and that from this experience I've become a better person.

I feel that kids should participate in things like this because there is something rewarding about knowing your actions can help make someone's life better, and that you can help get someone through a difficult time in his or her life.

Kids should also volunteer in their own communities because the more kids do community service, the more it helps others and builds character.
