We went to an advance screening of the new animated movie, “The Little Prince,” based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The movie is about a little girl whose mother wants her to become a grown-up right away. She moves next door to an old man who is a pilot and tells her stories about his adventures with the little prince, who came to Earth from Asteroid B-612. Her mom finds out that she’s “wasting time” on stories with the old man, instead of studying to get ready for her new school.

When the little girl sneaks out to meet the old man and he shows her how to have fun, she realizes that friendships never end. The old man teaches the little girl how to be unique, creative and use her imagination. He teaches her to write a story about the little prince. The old man also teachers her that what is essential is found in her heart.

One lesson of the movie is to never forget your childhood when you grow up. Also, the movie teaches the power of friendship and to always believe in yourself and others.

We really enjoyed the movie, which is appropriate for all ages from kids to adults. Watch the movie with your parents and remind them that you can work hard and still have fun too.
