"There Will Be Bears," by Ryan Gebhart (Candlewick) is about a kid, Tyson, and his grandfather, Gene, who want to go hunting in the Tetons. Gene normally goes twice a year with his wife, but for Tyson's birthday, he decided that he would take him. Tyson is very excited, but will he even get to go? Only you, the reader, can figure that out.

One morning after Tyson and Gene go pruning, Tyson's dad walks in the house. He tells Tyson that he can't go hunting with Gene because it's too dangerous. Someone was hiking in the Tetons, and a grizzly bear just ripped off his arm. A grizzly also broke both of someone's legs, and another grizzly killed two campers. Are these attacks related in some way? Nevertheless, Gene and Tyson make a "bear swear" to go hunting, and they intend to fulfill it.

This story has comedy, suspense, lots of detail, action and bears. The story also describes things that could happen in real life. I really enjoyed it, and I know you will, too. I bear swear.
