This art class fits us to a tea
Do you like working with clay? Would you like to build a teapot based on an artist of your choice? My Studio in Art class did just that.
First, we chose an artist and then chose one of their paintings that inspired us. Next, we made the teapot base, which can be whatever shape you want. After that, we made the sides. Your teapot can be geometric or organic. Once the sides are finished, you would make the lid. The lid must be the same shape as your base and it must fit the opening of the teapot.
After the sides are done, you must make a handle that supports the weight of the teapot. Once you attach the handle, you can make the spout. To attach the spout you have to cut out a spot for the spout and stick it in. After you stick it in, you must smooth out the clay and you have made a teapot.
The reason for picking out an artist is for the painting portion of the project. For the painting, you must paint in the style of the artist or copy their painting. After you are done painting, you have your teapot, ready to be fired.
