Tour a garden, help Long Island families
If you've ever wanted to peek into a neighbor's backyard to assess their gardening skills, now's your chance. On Saturday, six homeowners will open their gardens for tour that helps families in need on Long Island.
Contractors for Kids, a Long Island not-for-profit founded in 2005 by Kevin Harney and Alan Nahmias that helps local families suffering financially due to the sickness or death of a child, is hosting this adults-only event.
The garden tour fundraiser will take place in the Old Field South area of Setauket from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Docents will explain the historical significance of the area and each property. Complimentary refreshments will be served..
Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 if purchased Saturday. For tickets, call 888-208-5437 or visit contractorsforkids.org. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday.
