Did you ever want to look and feel like a troll? Well, now you can. We went to DreamWorks Trolls the Experience in Manhattan, and it was amazing!
When we first got there our eyes opened wide, and we gasped. We just couldn’t believe what we saw. It was such a different and colorful place. The escalator had soft, fuzzy rainbow fur along its side. The walls and floors had different textures, like fuzzy or smooth.
We had a lot of activities planned and would be receiving a special memento, which was a scrapbook sticker. There were a lot of different sections to visit, and we liked them all. In the Hair We Go section, we chose which Troll we wanted to look like. They had makeup artists to color our faces. We decided to go with Poppy, Branch and Harper. The ladies especially enjoyed getting as much glitter as possible on their face. One thing Peyton wished they would add to the experience is colorful nails to go with the hair and makeup. The boys were so surprised with how realistic they looked as Trolls — if Trolls were real, of course.
Next stop was a room where you can make sounds by tapping on the animals. It’s called Branch’s Musical Mash-Up. Donnell got to play on two purple snails. The harder you hit the sides of the snails, the louder the sound. While we were making music, a video of us tapping appeared on a giant screen.
Next we went into a big orange bus to catch confetti. We had to catch as much confetti as possible until time was up. The confetti was blowing all around the room and it was hard to do, but still so much fun. Confetti was all over us.
Ashard’s favorite part was the Critter Creek game. We had to quickly high-five the critters to invite them to the party before they disappeared. The party was fun because they were able to jump around and dance with their friends.
The last room was the 3D party room. We each put on 3D glasses and danced to some of our favorite songs from the movie. The room had a big TV screen where the Troll characters were dancing along with us. They all looked so real, as if you could touch them.
After the dance party, we took pictures in the photo booth and put them in our scrapbook along with all the mementos we collected in each room. Finally, we met Poppy. It was so cool to meet her and kind of funny because Trolls are little, and she was pretty big. We will definitely always remember this adventure as we look back at our scrapbook.
We recommend everyone visit Trolls the Experience, especially younger children. It’s open until May. There is a gift shop and a cafe, too. If we could, we would go back every day! It was really the best day ever!
