Have you ever eaten tilapia? Well, I haven’t but I will soon, because in Mr. George Marino’s sixth-grade class we are farming tilapia.
Tilapia are a type of fish. We are raising them in a 100-gallon tank. There are a dozen fish and it takes a lot of work to clean and keep up with the tank and fish. So for those who think this is easy, it is not — but it is a lot of fun.
In late September we got them. They weighed only about a gram or two but have grown a lot since then, and we are hoping they grow to 1 pound. I can’t wait to eat them. Yes, I said eat them!
If you want to try tilapia, you can buy it at your local grocery store.
