Weekend family fun on Long Island: Bari Koral, American Girl fashion show and more

Looking for things to do with the kids this weekend? From Bari Koral and American Girls to a fishing festival, Lego and more, there is plenty happening on Long Island. Here are my top five picks for family-friendly activities during the weekend:
Fall Family Fishing And Children’s Festival at Hempstead Lake State Park (Southern State Parkway, West Hempstead) On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., families can head to this festival, which includes fly-fishing instruction, a casting for pumpkin contest, fish-cleaning services and more. Children’s activities include pumpkin decorating, pony rides and a magic show. Held at McDonald Pond, inclement weather may cancel, no rain date. Price: Free, $8 parking fee.
Bari Koral Family Rock Band at Landmark on Main Street (232 Main St., Port Washington). A get-up-and-dance show for families on Sunday at 2 p.m. Price: $18.
Cinema for Kids: "The Lego Movie" at Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Ave., Huntington). A screening of this family-friendly movie featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman, Jonah Hill and more on Sunday at noon. Rated G. Price: Free ages 12 and younger, $6 members, $11 public.
"The Magic Garden with Carole & Paula" at YMCA Boulton Center for the Performing Arts (37 W. Main St., Bay Shore) A family concert (video clips, songs and stories, antics provided by the original Sherlock and more from the locally produced children's television show of the 1970s and '80s) on Sunday at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Price: $20, $15 children.
The American Girl Fashion Show at Our Lady of Mercy School (520 S. Oyster Bay Rd., Hicksville). A fashion show for girls and their families, friends and favorite dolls on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Price: $35 includes a light meal, drinks and dessert.
