Welcome Back to School picnic

Here at the North Merrick School we all might feel bummed coming back to school, but our school has a way of making us feel better about it. We have our annual Welcome Back to School Picnic. It is filled with fun and laughter.

We usually go into the school’s courtyard, set up towels and blankets and sit with our friends. We usually bring games and play activities. A bunch of parents come and talk. The parents also help at the food table, while the kids have fun talking, laughing and playing. Everyone is pretty excited about seeing one another after a long time apart.

We have ices, chips, fruits and some cookies along with water and fruit punch. It is very refreshing. We always have an amazing time. It’s great to get together with old friends and new ones. If you don’t have a Welcome Back Picnic at your school, you should start one.
