Confession time — after seeing her at Fashion’s Night Out on Thursday, I’m a little smitten with…Alexa Ray Joel. Yep, it’s true. She performed at Bloomingdale’s Soho (down on Lower Broadway) and was…y’know…actually talented. (Which is a relief, given that we’re at the start of another Fashion Week — which means I’m crammed in with a slew of celebrity wannabes.) And Alexa seems a sweetheart, to boot.
“I’m wearing something by the amazing Aqua line — second floor,” Joel said, spinning for the audience, taking time between songs to give a polite plug for Bloomie's, her host. She looked swell in a leather bomber, sleeveless tank and super mini. “What girl doesn’t like Bloomingdale’s?” she asked.
'Course, it's all in her blood — the musical gene (from dad, Billy Joel), and the fashion sense (from mom, Christie Brinkley). There are worse gene pools....
