Alexander Wang's haute, hybrid ponchos

These days, it's all about the hybrid, whether you're pedaling a bike or commuting in four-wheel drive. Now, Alexander Wang has reinvented the concept for fashion. It's about time somebody did it right, given how lame previous hybrids have been (think of "skorts," or those shirts with built-in dickies or vests).
Pieces seemed to morph before our eyes, transforming from knit hoodie (on top) to leather poncho (on bottom), angora sweater to satin poncho, bib-front tux shirt to sheer silk poncho. There were puffer-pea coats, a biker-bomber jacket, a tux cutaway jacket with fur coat sleeves, and a merino vest and turtleneck with zip-off peplums hanging off the back. Even a delicate sheer top gets sexier with long carwash-like strips of fabric dangling in the breeze.
And the height of luxury? Try a pair of those sunglasses with mink-wrapped temples. Keeps your glasses in place AND your ears warm.
Forget "Toy Story 3" or "Tron: Legacy." Wang's runway show could've been nominated for a Best Special Effects Oscar.
