If you've seen Marcel Duchamp's painting, "Nude Descending a Staircase," you know you don't get a standard portrait -- more like glimpses of a woman in motion. Wang's line is like that, a montage of a woman getting dressed. A pinstripe dress has a lacey lingerie top, as if she's just pulling it on. Minis sport suit jacket tails. A pinstripe shrug tops a half-there vest.
There are peeks at skin, jackets with no collars, garments with one sleeve, others with extra sleeves. Backpacks and frames like those on 3-D glasses complete the look. Not for everyone, granted, but fascinating.
