Black Friday 2013 store opening timeline

Shoppers, start your engines, because like it or not, more stores than ever are opening their doors on Turkey Day. The early bird is Kmart, which opens at 6 a.m. Thursday and remains open for a staggering 41 straight hours.

Walmart is hoping to take pressure off shoppers by issuing wristbands for the purchase of some hot-ticket items. Waves of sales begin at 6 and 8 p.m. Thursday, and certain items are carrying a one-hour in-stock guarantee. And, Best Buy will begin handing out merchandise tickets for purchases up to two hours before stores open.

If you’re joining the pursuit of bargains, here’s an hour-by-hour look at what’s happening:

THANKSGIVING DAY

6 a.m.

Kmart opens today with doorbusters including a $399.99 50-inch Seiki LCD HDTV and buy-one, get-one-free Fisher Price Little People sets.

9 a.m.

Old Navy opens, 50 percent off storewide.

4 p.m.

Michaels opens, 6-foot and taller Christmas trees are 50 percent off.

5 p.m.

Toys R Us opens, $29.99 Furby Boom, anyone? First round of deals are on until 9 p.m.

6 p.m.

Best Buy opens — $299.99 Apple iPad 2 with Wi-Fi; $999 on a 65-inch Samsung LED HGTV and DVDs as low as $1.99.

Walmart’s first round of deals start: $688 Vizio 65-inch LED HDTV; $38 LG Blu-ray player; $98 Graco Travel System.

8 p.m.

Kohl’s opens with 50 percent off toys and $6.99 Barbie Pinktastic or Fashionista dolls, plus $15 Kohl’s cash for every $50 spent.

JCPenney opens: $9.99 Cooks brand and Hamilton Beach kitchen electronics and $20-$40 women’s boots.

Macy’s opens with deals that last until 1 p.m. Friday, like 60 percent off all Lenox and Spode Christmas china.

Roosevelt Field and Smith Haven malls open with free coffee all day and treats for the first 250 shoppers at guest services.

Sears opens with deals like $12.99 jeans for the whole family.

Target opens: $379.99 47-inch Vizio Smart LED HDTV; $5 classic board games, $19 Razor A Folding Kick Scooter.

Next round of deals at Walmart: $114.95 Beats by Dr. Dre Solo headphones.

Toys R Us ends first round of doorbusters

10 p.m.

Tanger Outlets at Deer Park and Riverhead open with 20-30 percent bonus savings passes.
“Mystery” doorbusters at Best Buy that start at midnight are revealed online at bestbuy.com.

Midnight

Walt Whitman Shops mall opens, free tote bag for the first 250 shoppers at guest services.

FRIDAY

2 a.m.

Michaels closes.

5 a.m.

Sears doorbusters end.

Home Depot and Lowes stores open.

6 a.m.

P.C. Richard & Son stores open.

7 a.m.

PetSmart opens: First 100 customers receive a free stocking stuffed with $130-worth of in-store coupons plus dog and cat treats.

HomeGoods and Michaels open.

8 a.m.

Last wave of doorbusters at Walmart start: $189 iPhone 5S models (with two-year contract) come with a $75 Walmart gift card for a future purchase — only available until 9 a.m.

10 a.m.

New specials at Best Buy: $5 Blu-ray titles and $40 HP Deskjet 3510 wireless all-in-one printer.
