When makeup artist Danielle Restivo wanted old Hollywood glam and “Euphoria“ themes for a photo shoot for her 30th birthday, she headed to PopUp Speakeasy Selfie Studio in Roslyn.

“It was a lot of fun,” says Restivo, of New Hyde Park, who plans to post the photos on her personal Instagram account. “There’s nothing like it. It’s so easy, creative, especially now, where photos are so big on social media.”

PopUp Speakeasy Selfie Studio, which relocated from Ronkonkoma to Roslyn in March, recently added both “Euphoria”- and “Bridgerton”-inspired sets to their multithemed content studio for social media, branding and professional photography and video, says Catherine Ovejas, creative director, and co-owner of the studio.

“It’s basically the happy place that you would go for all social media content, as well as branding,” explains Ovejas.

In addition to a few basic mainstay sets, the studio keeps refreshing with current cultural themes, such as the "Bridgerton" and "Europhia"-inspired backdrops where people can dress up and pretend they’re actually in scenes from these two hit TV shows.

To simulate the set of "Euphoria," which follows the life of a 17-year-old navigating life in high school, PopUp recreated the season finale of the hit HBO show with a mini theater, 8-foot, lit-up marquee and vintage theater seats, and a second set simulating a high school hallway with lockers.

Set in Regency-era England, "Bridgerton" is a Netflix series about eight siblings and their quest for love. For a nod to the second season, the PopUp backdrop has cottage core elements, like a claw-footed tub and garden scenes with quotes from the series, pastel colors and regency-era details.

Also up through spring is an inviting garden theme with wisteria. “It’s basically an indoor greenhouse that we built in the studio,” says Ovejas.

In addition to individual shoots, PopUp can accommodate meetings, networking events, and parties. “We’ve already done several parties and we just opened,” Ovejas says.
