Denim on the runway?

It's not the most glamorous material featured at New York Fashion Week, but it took to the spotlight at Charlotte Ronson's show.

Ronson used the old classic in everything from heels and blouses to army jackets, shirt dresses and even overalls.

Pairing colorblock straight leg denim pants and shorts with crochet tops and adding delicate touches of lace, Ronson sent out a spring collection that was casual and light.

That is, until an array of silky, embellished dresses in orange and rust strutted out  to Samantha Ronson's soundtrack (thanks, sis), knocking the audience out with a strong punch of color. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the power of contrast.
