Christian Siriano's deep forest drama

Everyone's favorite former "Project Runway" imp proves that his early rise (after winning season 4 of the reality show) was no less than deserved. He whipped up a fashion brew of equal parts drama, flash and fun.
Siriano, whose proud momma sat front-row, ventured into a forest, it seems, for inspiration. He came out with a tight, dark-green organza skirt with ruffle down one side, a mossy-green cocktail dress with sheer draped overlay, and a cropped cashmere jacket with humongo leaf collar.
A sleek, gray knit turtleneck and wide-leg wool pant combo proved he could tone things down for the ladies who lunch. But the opening series of tweed jackets with sheer, asymmetrical skirts shows why he's the go-to guy for young, eclectic, fun-loving fans. But, Christian — mauve? Several poofy crepe gowns were sculptural, but we worry the shade is doomed to feel dated by the day after tomorrow.
Oh, and all you shoe lovers, take note: The Christian Siriano for Payless Gold collection, coming this fall, includes the equestrian Harness Bootie, the Orchid Pump with stick-straight skinny heel, and the strappy Cobra Bootie, each featuring his signature blunt, hoofed-toe shape.
