Diane von Furstenberg still wraps

Face it, the wrap dress is,  at this point, a legendary American silhouette, so there’s no reason for Diane von Furstenberg to leave it out of her lineup and she did not, opening early on with one version – sort of a wrappy take on the gaucho, and closing with a knockout wrap gown of black sequins.

The show, inspired by strong women, American Legends, featured a potpourri of wardrobe options – suitings for day,  kimonos, jumpsuits, the now ubiquitous giant fur vest (just for fun, one of hers was green),  stunning diva gowns, the aforementioned gauchos and of course, a wildly imaginative array of prints including hearts, dots,  huge geometrics, and shamrocks (how lucky).  Never color shy, von Furstenberg offered up lots of vibrant hues -- cranberry, pomegranate, though most stunning, the blues – oh, the gown embroidered with gold – glorious.

Speaking of American legends, the house boasted quite a few including Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer and opera great Renee Fleming.  Was there anything this diva would like to own? “More like, what wouldn’t I?” she asked.
