Sure Donna Karan loves everything New York, but perhaps the last place you’d expect to find her is in the outfield of Yankee Stadium.

Well, in a way, there she is.

The company just announced a multi-faceted, long-term sponsorship agreement with the Yankees that includes a permanent outfield bullpen sign, located in right centerfield featuring the famous DKNY skyline logo.   There’s also a DKNY lounge located in the third baseline Champions Suite seating section, which is accessed by Champion Suite ticket holders in sections 27B, 28 and 29, as well as by all Legends Suite ticket holders.

DKNY is the first fashion brand to have a permanent presence in Yankee Stadium.  Mark Weber, chairman and CEO of Donna Karan International said in a statement, “Donna Karan created DKNY to capture the spirit of New York and the people who live here, including the most successful baseball team in history, the Yankees.  We are thrilled to have this opportunity to celebrate the city that inspired our brand and this iconic team.”

So, will we be seeing any of the Yankee players duded up in ads for the very smart DKNY-Men collection?  As of now, there are just mega-hot models, but said a DKNY company spokeswoman, “We are planning a long term relationship with the Yankees, so you never
know what will happen.”   Now that’s the team spirit.
