Elie Tahari: Naughty and nice

Elie Tahari is in a darkly romantic mood for fall -- emphasis on the dark. Silhouettes are refined, fabrics luxe, but a number of the looks seem to whisper of something...slightly naughty.
Take the exquisite lace, used for sheer, swirling tops that are revealing...up to a point. There's a whiff of the dominatrix in a leather jacket, or tiers of chains hanging off the sleeves of a chiffon dress. And leather vests, like the one worn over a long knit dress, look a lot like hosters. All of which perks up this sophisticated wardrobe and prevents it from ever becoming staid, boring.
One caveat: We're kinda scratching our heads about the white tights. Really? Can a person pull that off after one's first ballet recital at age 7? We have our doubts. (Go for the tall white boots instead.)
