Fashion Week Fall 2015 trends: The return of the trouser
Welcome back pants.
After many a "dress season," one of the strongest trends to emerge during New York Fashion Week was the return of the trouser. And not just one kind - they came mega-wide, pencil slim, cropped and patterned, pants for casual times, work, even black tie.
Avril Graham, Harper Bazaar's fashion director, likes them all. "Whether stovepipe lean, cropped or slouch, a new pant shape is the go-to, must-have for a fall '15 modern wardrobe update," she says.
Adam Glassman, O, the Oprah magazine's creative director, has a favorite. "Flares are probably the most impressive pant of the season. They have a bit of that 'Charlie Girl' vibe."
And Robert Verdi, the celebrity stylist and fashion expert, says pants offer options for many body types. "Pants are a category where variety is valued," he says. "With pants, women have the freedom to choose what looks good on them -- skinny, wide -- it's not like a skirt or dress, where you might look frumpy in the current trend."
Here, right off New York Fashion Week's runways, the world of pants. Take your pick.
