For Gwen Stefani, it was a remarkably low-key affair. In past seasons, the uber-stylish singer and designer of LAMB has orchestrated mega fashion events that are equal parts runway show, rock concert and circus. She’s typically shown scores of looks for each season, with a cacophonous onslaught of influences. This season, she was more sedate, with a modest (for her) 28 looks, shown at a presentation in a small venue at the tents on Sunday.

Stefani’s style—retro, laid-back, California "kul"—still came through. Hot pants played a major role: one pair with gold sparkles worn with a white tennis sweater; another adorned with big cargo pockets and worn with a black knit top. Oversize totes, clutches, and wide-strap platform sandals completed the look.

We liked the sleeveless baby-doll dresses with tux-like pleats, and the tribal stripe dresses in funky silhouettes—one maxi-length number was shaped like an egg, and when the model sank her hands in her pockets, she looked bundled in a cozy cocoon.
