Fans of handbag designers John Truex and Richard Lambertson truly mourned when the company went into bankruptcy last year. But no more. The duo has joined Tiffany & Co. to create a luxe line of way more than handbags -- everything from gloves to wallets and card cases to duffles and toilet kits for men.

You can meet the designers from 2 to 4 p.m. next Tuesday at the Tiffany store at the Americana Manhasset, where they’ll be happy to show off the goods themselves.

I got to see them in the showroom last month and they’re yummy. First off, Tiffany blue looks quite lovely when done in snakeskin (as in the “Hadley” bag, above,  $1,495), but there are some less expensive options, including a fab reversible tote that goes from suede to metallic leather in several color combos for only $595. Also a great assortment of wallets and card cases, and coming for the holidays, some beautiful gloves.

Truex has said they were thinking about jewel boxes when they designed the collection. Also jewelry -- the clasps and chains all have typical Tiffany details and though this may not have been intentional, you could remove the crystal chain strap from the “Sofia” evening clutch, $1,395, and wear it as a necklace if you wanted. (I tried it on the showroom sample, quite lovely.)
