Island Farmhouse, the latest boutique at East Wind Shoppes at the Inn at East Wind complex in Wading River, opened in February. The boutique specializes in home décor and one-of-a-kind hand finished furniture pieces with a farmhouse feel.

“We have a lot of local vendors and artists in the store who paint and refinish the furniture,” says Kim Gillin, who co-owns the shop with Linda Vernillo. “It’s just basically all farmhouse décor and furniture.”

There are also dining tables and chairs, cabinets, bureaus, end tables and other custom, refinished furniture from Southshore Woodworking of Moriches, Painted by Dede and Chalked by Court, both Mastic-based, and Tommy’s Touch of West Babylon.

You’ll find home décor and accessories including shutters, mirrors, decorative metal and wood trays, kitchen canisters, butter dishes, signs, pillows and plates with sayings, water pitchers, bottle covers, garden lanterns and throws.

There’s a line of soy candles from Moore’s Lights & Lather of Mastic, bracelets by Comet Brands of Shirley, photos by Yaphank photographer Anthony Graziano, and My Succulent Shop of East Moriches succulents in a variety of fun pots, including mini ceramic animals and vintage trucks.

In apparel, there’s Coram’s Under the Bleach tie-dyed sweatshirts and Island Farmhouse’s own line of T-shirts, sweatshirts and caps all made in Wading River.

“Anything that’s not tie-dyed, is stuff that we made ourselves,” says Gillin.

The shop also offers plenty of whimsical seasonal items, like Easter wares, succulents in bunny pots, festive signs and stuffed animals.

Prices start at $3 for a local greeting card and up to $1,200 for a farmhouse table. Island Farmhouse is located at the East Wind Shoppes at the Inn, 5768 Route 25A, Suite C, in Wading River. The shop is open Sunday to Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday to Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., 631-574-0391; island-farmhouse.com.
