J.Crew has had more than its fair share of the limelight over the past few years – what with a first lady who clearly loves the clothes, and dresses her kids in them…hard to get more high profile in America. But how to reach the international press? Easy, show at the tents at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which they did, presentation style, on Tuesday morning.
On a mobbed runway filled with reporters and photographers from all over the world, models stood still wearing quirky combos – a denim shirt and a multi-color sequin skirt – crayola colors – think bright pink – and crisp, yet easy, separates, sometimes preppy, sometimes cool.
One verrrry high-placed fashion editor confided, “I see a lot of things I want to wear right now.” And we have to agree.
