Compared to an ethereal Spring/Summer 2012 collection inspired by rainbows, Jenny Packham's gone dark for fall.

"The collection's inspired by the Femme Noir genre of movies," Packham told Newsday. "The leading lady is femme fatale-- dangerous, glamorous, unrepentive."

Packham, a red carpet staple who has dressed everyone from Kate Winslet to Kate Middleton, has a certain A-lister in mind for her newest designs-- Angelina Jolie.

"Angelina Jolie is a great femme fatale," she said.

When she's not designing evening wear, Packham is busy with bridal couture.

"When we design for weddings as well as for evening we have to try to create excitement," she said. Her expert advice for brides to be? Don't play it too safe.

"You're coming in to the church, everyone turns around and looks at you, so push yourself a little bit. Try some things you haven't tried. I know women always tend to go for the same sort of things. Play around with accessories and enjoy it."
