Actress Katie Holmes and her longtime stylist Jeanne Yang showed their Holmes & Yang collection at an exclusive gathering in a gallery space on West 24th Street yesterday afternoon. Any piece from the 14-look line, described in program notes as "wearable elegance," would have looked swell on the long and lanky Holmes. She wore an olive green cable sweater from a past collection underscoring the philosophy of the brand -- namely clothes that are meant to be worn season after season.

The crowd was limited to a few dozen editors and reporters and there were no photographers allowed save for one house cameraman. Holmes, who hung back from the group in a corner of the room, chose the location in part, she said, because it was close to home. "It's in my neighborhood," she told the Associated Press. "We walked here."
