After a grand wedding with three Vera Wang gowns and a two-part E! special, reality star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce Monday from New Jersey Nets basketball player Kris Humphries.

Kardashian cited irreconcilable differences just 72 days after their Aug. 20 wedding.

The Kardashian-Jenner clan has built an empire, from television to fashion, recently launching a Kardashian Kollection clothing line at Sears.

News of the quickie divorce caused a stir on Long Island Monday, as local shoppers voiced their opinions. Here's what they had to say.

"I find it very shocking considering that she planned the wedding forever and made it such a big deal. She spent a lot of money on that!" -Briana Ekloff, Bayville

"I feel bad for her. I saw on Facebook a lot of people saying bad things about her. She's only human. If she's not happy she's allowed to not stay in a marriage. She made all the [wedding] money back anyway, I don't think that came out of her pocket." -Alina Florescu, Westbury

"Kris Humphries is crazy. As for spending so much on the wedding, it was what Kim wanted. There's no harm in that." -Joe Scappatone, Beacon, NY

"That was quick. In my opinion, they don't take weddings seriously. It's a business deal more than a wedding. They make love a joke." -Anum Sheraz, West Babylon

"I'm really not surprised. It made me laugh. She just wants attention." -Mariella Alvino, Plainview

"It's not that surprising. From what I saw, she always seemed like she just wanted to be married. It didn't seem like it was ever really about love." -Christina Schebleina, Oyster Bay

"She'll find any way to make money and take advantage of people who are already established. That's why Reggie Bush didn't want to marry her." -Sylvester Johnson, Hicksville

"I think she's jealous of her sisters and their relationships. She's trying to find what they have." -Brandon Jennings, Hicksville
