Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi knows what it means to be active.

The athlete, author and mother will launch her own line of activewear for women, called Tsu.ya (her full name is Kristine Tsuya Yamaguchi), at Lord & Taylor stores and on lordandtaylor.com in September 2012.

“My lifestyle is demanding . . .  the clothing that I wear needs to be functional as well as fashionable,” she said in a statement. “Moms like me know that our attire needs to live up to our standards and to our activities.”

The limited-edition collection will consist of 18 fall pieces, including leggings, yoga pants and sporty tops. The line's style, described as modern, on-trend and comfortable, was inspired by Yamaguchi's worldly travels, from Hollywood to Paris to Asia.

A portion of sales will benefit the Always Dream Foundation, Yamaguchi's organization that funds programs to empower children to succeed.
