Never say never.
At the moment, we’re directing that bit of conventional wisdom to Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz, who has said in the past that he would never do a “mass market” collection as many of his lofty colleagues have.
Who knows what changed his mind, but it was just announced that Elbaz has signed on to do a collection for H&M. “What intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public,” said Elbaz in a statement.
Mark you calendars because this will be one of those line-up-a-day-in-advance kind of events. The collection debuts on Nov. 20 - -just in time for holiday parties.
