Mackage designs have 'magical effect'

Design duo (and old grade-school pals) Elisa Dahan and Eran Elfassy must've had a "you got chocolate in my peanut butter" / "you got peanut butter on my chocolate" type moment when creating their Spring 2012 line. And you don't have to recall that slogan from the old Reese's Peanut Butter Cups commercials to get how two seemingly disparate elements in a collection can sometimes come together to magical effect.
At the Mackage show, held on Wednesday, Sept. 7 (aka Fashion Week Eve) at the Hudson Hotel, the designers combined a sweet, delicate, warm 1950s inspiration with the cool, sleek, mannish edge of leather. The leather and luxe outfits work well, like the white leather full, flowy skirt paired with a white linen mesh top; a twill jacket with black leather cuffs; or an indigo cropped leather jacket with padding and a long, pleated midi.
But grab first – the white leather short shorts with double-buckled waist or that black double-hooded trench with leather shoulders. We're just sayin'....
