"Every girl needs a Turband in her life," says 26-year-old Miami-based designer David Jon Acosta. "They're a definite staple."

If that statement leaves you puzzled, you must not have seen celebrity style icons Kourtney Kardashian or Rachel Zoe lately.

A Turband is a cross between a turban and a headband, and it's the hottest item right now in Acosta's fashion line, Gold Saturn.

For fall, he just released them in velvet, polka dot and metallic. They also come studded and in python.

Gold Saturn, started four years ago by the Miami International University of Art and Design graduate, also makes graphic tees (one was recently spotted on Kylie Minogue), tanks, dresses, sweatshirts and body suits, all with Acosta's signature indie-vintage style and rocker attitude.

"Gold Saturn is definitely not for the wallflower," says Acosta. "It's for the wild child, the person that you want to get to know better in the room."

What else is in Acosta's closet at the moment?

"My favorite trend right now is Navajo," he says. "I love the Native American culture and everything that comes with it -- fringe, suede, patchwork, feathers, beads. Of course everything 70s is always going to be in my sketchbook and journal. I'm a total vintage junkie."

Turbands are priced from $40 to $48 and can be found in Manhattan at W Hotel Store and Big Drop NYC or online at goldsaturn.com. (Psst -- some are on sale now for just $18!)
