Marc Jacobs is known for pushing the envelope with fashion, and the designer is breaking into the acting world in the same style.

Jacobs makes his big screen debut in "Disconnect" April 12, a dramatic thriller by LD Entertainment that entangles three different stories, all about the effect of the Internet on modern day relationships. He plays a sleazy, acid wash jeans-wearing man named Harvey who produces underage porn.

Jacobs, who said he was persuaded to take the role by director Henry Alex Rubin, co-stars with Jason Bateman and Alexander Skarsgard. According to the designer, this will be a one-time-only event.

"I did it . . . My acting career is done," Jacobs told Vogue contributing editor Andre Leon Talley in an interview.

Jacobs appears at the end of the newly released movie trailer, below.
