Marc Jacobs kicked off his fashion show Monday night with a bang — literally. Arriving guests found a bag on each seat containing a bottle of his newest men’s fragrance, Bang, plus a T-shirt depicting the designer himself, au naturel save for a carefully placed, rather
large bottle of scent that covers his full frontal fashion. For the past few seasons, Jacobs has been getting trimmer and fitter than ever, so biz partner Robert Duffy suggested showing off his efforts.
“My immediate reaction was, I don’t know,” Jacobs told WWD. But then he decided to go for it. Women often switch fragrances, but scent for men “is very personal,” he said. “It’s a layer on top of skin.” The scent, a mix of peppercorns, woodsy notes and patchouli, launched mid
summer at Bloomingdale’s and Marc Jacobs shops and hits other department stores this month.
