Marissa Webb may have you thinking back-to-school this spring. Not exactly the right timing for back-to-school, but you might want to give your wardrobe a rethink.

There was a subtle schoolgirl vibe here reimagined for an energetic young woman with more than midterms on her mind. Think skinny ties, for instance, but layered in unexpected ways -- like the black silk blouse with skinny tie tucked inside a khaki tulle strapless dress and worn with sexy heels, the laces coiled up the ankle. Button-down blouses with skinny ties were also tucked inside corsets, or a mod salt-n-pepper tweed blazer worn with a leather mini. If this is your school uniform, you’ll never want to be absent a day.

A tweed sleeveless tunic dress with black trim unzipped at the side, and the neon yellow blouse (worn with fun asymmetric leather-tweed mini) is sure to catch attention. Not the easiest color, granted, but worth a try in the dressing room if you happen to catch sight of the outfit while shopping. You could also pair the blouse with a tweed jacket and short shorts.

Two other looks worth a try -- for day, go for the roomy fatigue shirt jacket with oversized leather pockets. And for night, a white deep-V shift dress with black-lace overlay -- the lace print is a stunner, not floral, not paisley, but more geometric, like circuit boards. Modern and techy, but from afar it just looks like soft, sweet cobwebs.
