Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman is making a fashion statement.
The colorful, striped shirt "El Chapo" wore in a recent photo taken with actor Sean Penn is apparently a hot commodity, according to Barabas, the Los Angeles-based company selling the shirts. Time reported the retailer's website crashed after the photo emerged.
Shawn Esteghbal, co-owner of Barabas, told Today that while he knows "El Chapo" is the most wanted man, "any publicity is good publicity."
"We noticed on Saturday night," he said. "I was sleeping in bed and got a lot of phone calls and messages; my customers and friends were telling me, this is your shirt that 'El Chapo' is wearing!"
The shirt style, dubbed "Most Wanted," is called "Fantasy," and is on back order due to the sales spike. You can nab one of your own for $128 on Amazon.
