Here on Long Island we love our hometown boy Michael Kors, but we're not the only ones.
Kors has gathered a whopping 5 million Facebook fans, and the Merrick-bred designer is celebrating with one of spring's must-have trends — a bold new pair of sneakers.
Fresh prints and wedges have transformed sneakers from sporty to fashion-forward this season, with Kors on the forefront (he released his second collection in March).
To thank his Facebook fans, he has designed a high-top graphic zebra print version with silvertone hardware, releasing only 500 pairs that will be sold through the Michael Kors Facebook page and at five Steve Madden stores worldwide for $275.
The only place they are carried in the U.S. is the Rockefeller Center store in Manhattan, and customers must provide sales associates with a special password, found only on Facebook.
