She has been spotted shopping for discounts at Target, and she has wowed the country in Narciso Rodriguez.

In the years she has lived in the White House, Michelle Obama has worked to make herself a rare type of fashion icon — an enviable, yet relatable one.

And she took to the same approach Tuesday during her speech at the Democratic National Convention.

Obama wore a custom-made brocade Tracy Reese dress, showing off her toned arms but keeping it ladylike in pink and gold with a periwinkle hem.

Reese, an African-American designer from Detroit, took to Twitter to express her excitement.

“Thanks everyone for sharing this amazing moment! We are all so grateful and honored to have dressed Mrs. Obama for such a momentous speech!!" she tweeted.

The shoes were J. Crew's Everly suede pumps in rhubarb, $245 at jcrew.com.

Even the first lady's nail polish caused a fashion frenzy, as admirers tried to guess the chic shade of gray. One thing is for sure . . . Malia Obama was a fan. She was spotted copying mom's color.
