The urgency designers feel to turn up the heat on color next spring continues with Naeem Khan. His holy trinity, stated on the cover of his program: “Colorful. Racy. Glamour.” He didn’t disappoint.

A mirrored runway helped amplify to even greater degree the bright, bright, brights that make up his collection. Pick a color — any color! Yellow? He had several, including a sunny matte jersey gown with swirls of silver beading. Orange? Even sexier, with one-shoulder or sexy racer-back variations. Fuchsia? How about an organza ball skirt with a crystal-fringed tee? And navy fans should love a column gown with a silver streamers motif.

Periwinkle, mauve, moss, burgundy, red, rose, ruby (‘cuz you can’t be satisfied with just ONE shade of red) — all enjoyed a moment to shine. It was fun, if a little tiring to watch. Like he had to take out every crayon in the box.

Still, that means there’s bound to be something for everyone. Even white — there’s a classic white georgette jacket fringed with crystals worn atop a demure trumpet skirt, perfect for an older bride … or a mother of the groom looking to steal some thunder.
