It's impossible to find a taxi and the streets of Manhattan are cluttered with well-dressed fashion-lovers: New York Fashion Week SS 2016 has officially begun. Here's what you need to know about fashion's most imporant week of the year.
When is New York Fashion Week 2015?
New York Fashion Week 2015 began on Thursday, September 10 and runs through Thursday, September 17. The week includes the Spring 2016 runway collections presented by various popular and lesser-known designers including Rebecca Minkoff, Herve Leger, Reem Acra and Betsy Johnson. Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren will show off their Spring 2016 collections later in the week.

Where is New York Fashion Week held?
For the first time in more than two decades, Fashion Week isn't being held at its usual Lincoln Center home. Instead, shows are scattered across various venues in Manhattan like Milk Studios, The Gallery at Skylight Clarkson Square, 59 Chelsea Piers and The Dock, Skylight at Moynihan Station.
The move stems from the designers' hope that fashionistas will find their shows more accessible. The days of tents in Lincoln Center and Bryant Park are being replaced by edgier runway settings including converted railway terminals and a former post office.
What should I wear to New York Fashion Week?
Two words: Comfortable. Shoes. Getting from show to show at New York Fashion week isn't easy and trying to do it in your highest heels won't make it any easier. Luckily, sneakers and flats are more in line with current trends than they have been in years past.
