Nicholas K offers a pow and a wow on the runway

We expect an urban “Apocalypse Now” moment from Nicholas K, but this season the design duo -- Nicholas and Christopher Kunz -- went the other way with an easier, less aggressive Apache-inspired sportswear collection. Feathers in the models’ messily braided hair, along with moccasin booties, underscored this.
The vibe overall was organic and easy -- drapey ensembles in black, white and earth tones, “pagan” jackets (fab), a little sparkle for special ceremonies and a curvy “smoke” pattern that sent out all the right signals.
